Kristen has been a Physiotherapist for over 20 years, graduating from the University of Sydney in 1998.
With experience spanning a broad spectrum of medical services, Kristen has worked in the public hospital systems in both Australia and England, and in specialised physiotherapy and sports clinics across Sydney:
- acute post operative, orthopaedics, ICU, neuro, outpatients and rehabilitation units
- gym-based rehabilitation, specialising in workers compensation cases, rehabilitation and post-op recovery
- specialised physiotherapy and sports injury clinics, managing sports and work/posture related injuries
Kristen established the successful Arthur Street Physiotherapy clinic in Forestville 2013 before relocating and launching Active Steps Physiotherapy in Killarney Heights in 2020.
Active Steps Physiotherapy is focused on restoring movement and function in order for patients to be better able to perform the normal activities of living, and preventing recurrences.
Treatment is tailored for each condition with identification of why symptoms have developed; a strong manual therapy base to treat symptoms; and exercises and client education to minimise relapse.
Kristen is trained in the Integrated Systems Model, the Sarah Key Method, the Mulligan Concept, Dry Needling Plus as well as extensive further education in core stability and functional rehabilitation.
